Sensational orchestral Christmas metal band Trans-Siberian Orchestra is bringing its signature sounds to the BMO Harris Bradley Center!
The band was formed in 1996 by producer, composer, and lyricist Paul O'Neill. He made a name for himself in the industry by managing and producing for legendary rock acts such as Aerosmith, AC/DC, Joan Jett, and Scorpions. In 1996, he was offered to start his own band by Atlantic Records (one of the country’s most important record labels) and he recruited Jon Oliva, Al Pitrelli, and Robert Kinkel to complete the line-up. He got the idea for the band’s name from his trip to Russia. He said in an interview, “In the 1980s I was fortunate enough to have visited Russia. If anyone has ever seen Siberia, it is incredibly beautiful but incredibly harsh and unforgiving as well. The one thing that everyone who lives there has in common that runs across it in relative safety is the Trans-Siberian Railway. Life, too, can be incredibly beautiful but also incredibly harsh and unforgiving, and the one thing that we all have in common that runs across it in relative safety is music. It was a little bit overly philosophical, but it sounded different, and I like the initials, TSO.” They’ve had a stellar career with 6 studio albums, 1 compilation album, 1 video album, 1 extended play, and 6 singles.
Don’t miss your chance to see these over the top, wildly bombastic, and incredibly popular purveyors of orchestral Christmas metal!
