Bon Iver was formed in 2007 by singer and songwriter Justin Vernon after the break up of his band DeYarmond Edison. The band’s been through many line up changes since then and it currently consists of Justin (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Sean Carey (drums, keyboards, vocals), Matthew McCaughan (drums, vocals), Michael Lewis (bass, saxophone, keyboards, vocals), Emily Staveley-Taylor (guitar, vocals), Jessica Staveley-Taylor (vocals), Camilla Staveley-Taylor (vocals), and Andrew Fitzpatrick (guitar, keyboards, vocals). They’ve had a stellar career with 3 studio albums, 4 music videos, 1 extended play, and 8 singles. Their debut studio album (For Emma, Forever Ago) came out in 2008 and, spurred by the success of its lead single Skinny Love, went on to achieve Gold status in the UK, Denmark, US, and Platinum in Australia. Their follow up album (Bon Iver, Bon Iver) was released in 2011 and it’s been certified Gold in the UK, US, Canada, Denmark, and Platinum in Australia. The band has performed at many renowned music festivals such as Austin City Limits, Glastonbury, Coachella, Øyafestivalen, Way Out West, Bonnaroo, Sasquatch!, and Lollapalooza. They’ve won 2 Grammy Awards for Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album.
